Foot and ankle ROM exercises have a promising role in reducing DVT occurrences with diligent performance of the exercises in critically ill patients. Exercises can consist of: ankle dorsiflexion and plantarflexion, followed by medial and lateral rotation of the feet. It was recommended to perform ten repetitions of each motion every hour.
